I wish I was a painter

I wish I was a painter

                     I would paint the four of us

We are the perfect picture

 

I would paint us dressed in moms’ clothes

 Or playing ‘work,work’

 I would paint us on a picnic blanket

With colourful corn cereal and fairy bread

 

When I paint us the sun in always shining

And we are always smiling

 

I would paint us on that cart by the farm

Or next to the river with mom and dad both there

 

I would use all our favourite colours

And paint us sitting around a table

Drinking cappuccino, eating cake

Laughing while our kids play together

 

I would paint each of us as a flower

A daisy, a carnation, a rose, a daffodil

Always blooming

No matter the weather

No matter our conditions

 

I wish I was a painter
